Warming Fall Smoothies


That fall chill in the air making you question your cold summer smoothies habit?!  Not to fear, here’s some recipes to Fall-ify your smoothie routine! From cinnamon-y carrot cake to chocolate sweet potato pie-these fall smoothies will warm you up from the inside out! 

P.S. Each smoothie recipe contains at least 1 vegetable! 

Smoothie Pro Tips For Optimizing Digestion: Pour into a bowl and eat with a spoon to promote chewing and increase digestive enzyme output; use fresh vs. frozen fruits/veggies or let them come to room temp; add carminative herbs (which aid in digestive motility aka movin’ things along) via warming spices like cinnamon, ginger and clove.

Fall Smoothie Recipes

Chocolate Sweet Potato Pie

8-10 oz unsweetened almond milk

1-2 scoops chocolate protein (my current fav protein powders here)

1/2 medium sweet potato (cooked; can be frozen) or ½ cup canned pumpkin

2 T chia seeds

½ cup frozen zucchini (easier to digest if steamed first)

1-2 T cacao powder 

a few shakes of pumpkin pie spice

Blend!

Carrot Cake

¼ cup full fat coconut milk +~1 c water

1-2 scoops vanilla protein 

½ cup cooked/roasted carrots (can also use a handful of raw)

1.5 T raw almond butter

1/2 cup frozen cauliflower rice

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg 

1 date or 2-3 fresh figs

Blend!

Cinnamon Apple Crisp 

8-10 oz unsweetened hemp milk 

1-2 scoops vanilla protein

1 peeled green apple (raw or baked) 

2-3 T chopped walnuts 

1-2 T GF oats (optional) or flaxseeds

a few shakes of pumpkin pie spice

pinch of cloves 

handful of raw spinach or chard

Blend!

Ginger Beet

1 cup pea or macademia nut milk

1 scoop unflavored protein powder or 2 scoops collagen peptides 

½ cup chopped cooked beets (trader joes sells these already frozen) 

1-2 brazil nuts

1/2 frozen ripe banana

Squeeze of ½ an orange

~1 inch knob fresh ginger

A few dashes of turmeric powder

Blend!
