Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie
Smoothie pro tips for a happy gut:
Sit down, take 3 breaths before consuming
Eat with a spoon
CHEW your smoothie (add toppings to help)
Limit to single digits worth of ingredients; aka 9 or < (simple is better!)
Use soaked nuts/seeds (soak em in a jar of water overnight and then strain) to enhance digestibility
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie Recipe:
Makes 1 Smoothie
What you need:
1 scoop unflavored or vanilla protein (grab the brands of bone broth and beef protein powders I recommend & like here)*
1 overflowing cup frozen organic strawberries
2 T raw cacao nibs
1/3 cup full fat canned coconut milk
1 cup filtered water
1/2 cup frozen organic riced cauliflower
1T chia seeds (I like to use pre-soaked for optimal digestion)
1 date**
optional: 1/2 packet chocolate LMNT (if adding this, go for pure/unflavored protein)
How you do it:
Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender
Add more water as needed until reaching desired consistency if you like a thinner smoothie
Top with toppings of choice and enjoy with a spoon!
*for vegetarians - I recommend using a goat whey protein; for vegans I recommend Truvani
**soak for 3-4 mins in hot water to soften
